Today is a moment to celebrate a leader whose name will now travel far beyond our city, inspiring all who pass through Houston. Honored to be with my friend Fmr. Congresswoman Erica Lee Carter and her family at the dedication of Terminal E, named in honor of the late Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee a tireless advocate and visionary leader whose unwavering commitment to her constituents, mentorship, and public service left an indelible mark on Houston and the world.

Joined leaders from across the country in Washington, D.C. to visit with Victoria Barton, Associate Administrator for the Office of External Affairs, and engage U.S. Senate offices on the FEMA Act, advancing policies that strengthen resilience, response, and recovery nationwide, and most importantly here in Houston. Having experienced major disasters over the years and seen the devastation to our communities, I know how important it is to get this right.
