The Freedom Tour Community Send-Off is coming and We need YOU there!

Gather with us for the Freedom Tour Community Send-Off as we cover our travelers in love, guidance, and protection before they hit the road. Families, elders, alumni, and supporters are invited to come bless the journey and celebrate the young people who will be walking in the footsteps of Civil Rights foot soldiers across Alabama.

The evening will include reflections from past travelers, words from community elders, introductions of this year’s Freedom Tour cohort, and a moment of collective affirmation and prayer for their safety and growth. We’ll also share final ways to donate, sponsor, and support while the group is on the road.

Come stand in that circle of love and let our youth know the entire community is behind them as they head onto the Road to Alabama.

Freedom Tour 2026 is here: The Road to Alabama. For the 31st year, S.H.A.P.E. is taking young people and elders on an intergenerational journey through key Civil Rights landmarks to honor the foot soldiers who changed history.
This year’s tour includes Selma, Montgomery, Tuskegee, Mobile, and Gee’s Bend, with travel taking place July 26–August 1.
