After photographing thousands of dancers over the last 15 years, yesterday was the first time one of them called me Dad. ❤️ After years of photographing dancers from all over the world, it was finally Amelie’s turn to walk into her very first dance class.
She had been talking about it for days. The excitement, the anticipation, the little dance outfit, the ballet shoes... she was ready for every second of it.
What surprised me most was that she was so excited, she convinced Ari to join the class too.
As a photographer, I spend my life helping families preserve memories. As a father, yesterday reminded me why those memories matter so much.These moments feel ordinary while we’re living them, but one day they’ll become some of our most treasured memories.
I’m grateful I was able to pause for a few minutes and make these photographs. Not for social media, not for my portfolio, but for us.
Because they won’t be this little forever. ❤️
