Today one of our teams presented ideas for our new mural on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. principles of nonviolence. Almost unanimously, 15 high school students chose one of the three options we proposed. Now it's time to get our hands dirty with paintbrushes!!! Former DGCers, if you are available to help in the next four weeks, contact Natacha privately to coordinate efforts! We needs lots of hands for our mural on the theme: "Nonviolence is a way of life for courageous people."

Classes are about to start in one day. The new cohorts will tackle exciting and very diverse projects. It's going to be a busy semester!

Tomorrow at Ethos conference in Savannah, Poggio will be presenting on "Design as voice for underserved communities". If you are attending, the talk is at 11am in Hamilton Hall, SCAD.

Recognizing the critical role and contribution of rural women, the theme of International Women’s Day 2012 is Empower Rural Women – End Hunger and Poverty.

Design Global Change's project, "Bringing Girls into Focus," aims to empower female youth about the key roles women have in rural communities and how they could benefit their societies by further continuing their education.
