I've been asked by a few folks why oil stocks are going down even with high oil prices. My comment is that the market is forward looking and it's suggesting that the US/Global economy is likely to go into a recession which will destroy the demand for oil. They are anticipating that oil prices will be going down in the future.

The saying I've heard that I like is "The best way to solve high oil prices is high oil prices".

Below is a website that I use to review commodity prices and a few article that help explain the inflation we are seeing and what's happening with commodities.

A few comments on commodities. Lumber prices spiked during the peaks of Covid so the decrease of cost in the past year there is probably a correction. Silver and Iron Ore prices are significantly down over the past year, but not yet below pre-pandemic levels. Platinum on the other hand is down significantly over the past year and is currently below its pre-pandemic price and well below its price 10 years ago. Is now a good time to buy platinum?
