Couples United In Prayer

I find it ironic and amazing to share, that celebrating 38 years of marriage is largely determined in the value that family has been placed upon us as children. Adrienne and I have both come from loving parents who have given us love, nurture, and a foundation where Christ, who is the foundation, and the head of His church, have right His placement in our lives personally. It is through our journey of faith that constitutes our being able to celebrate our personal relationship of marriage in the most esteemed way.

Our marriage has outlived my mother's life who died at the young age of 38, so this moment is an unforgettable one personally. Her death, still to this day brings tears to my eyes, because she unlike me came to Christ in the 11th hour. But thanks be to God, she gets paid the same wage as those who began their journey in the early part of the day.
One of the requests my mother made of me was, "Michael I want you to get closer to your Father." At the time I thought she was speaking of my natural dad. Clearly, then, I did not understand her request until I began to look upward in my journey of faith. My life looking upward has helped me to be able to celebrate a most cherished marriage with Adrienne. This celebration truly is because we have Christ as our foundation, and we both have a lived experience of the value of marriage and family we hold dear, and can warmly reflect on.
So this 38 years of our marriage is very special, one its a memorial to the request my mother made of me I have carried through our marriage. But also, I truly have a wife and marriage I joyfully celebrate, even my late Pastor, Calvin Abraham would always tell me you are a blessed man in the person of Adrienne.
So I say to those who read this affirmation, let the Lord repurpose your married relationship, and and He will sustain you with exceeding joy, He is after all the all wise God!
