As part of National Engineers Week, today is Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day. Alden Group Renewable Energy would like to feature one of our own female engineers, Billea Karnes. Billea has a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering and began her career in the oil and gas sphere. In this field, she gained extensive experience in planning and portfolio management, economic evaluations, and investor relations. Billea became interested in Petroleum Engineering while growing up near the historic oil fields around Tulsa, OK, her hometown. She also wanted a career in problem solving and she has enjoyed her experience as a Petroleum Engineer and now as manager of Alden Group Renewable Energy’s Strategy, Planning, and Investor Relations functions.

October is Energy Awareness Month! Alden Group Renewable Energy provides customized environmental and economical solutions for commercial food preparation companies, grease trap disposal, and municipal wastewater treatment plants by recovering and processing the fats, oils, and greases (”brown grease”) disposed in wastewater in support of creating sustainable energy.

Reducing client costs, ensuring business continuity, eliminating waste, and providing a sustainable feedstock to the rapidly growing biofuel industry are Alden’s core objectives.
