We had to say goodbye to our best boy, Cloud, yesterday. He had been declining for months. I even almost posted a pic of him in his adult diapers prior to his sudden rapid decline this weekend. When we saw his vet they told us he had multiple organ failures and the best we could do was to ease his way out. He was such a good dog. Work has been keeping me distracted for the most part but taking time to write this post the emotions are hitting me. My wife said it feels emptier in our house today. She’s right. I already miss his nagging me to go outside. I miss him snuggling up under my chair while I work. I miss him looking for Cookie’s (our other dog) food bowl when he’s done with his. We saw this coming months ago and thought we were prepared, but when the day finally got here and we were holding him in our arms as he struggled to breath absolutely broke our hearts. Love your fur babies. Be patient with them. Know that when they break good habits it’s not a behavior issue, something may be wrong with them. We will always love you Cloud. I know you’re in doggy heaven eating everybody else’s food.
