MEETING REMINDER AND IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS!!

1. TOMORROW, Tuesday 8/22 is our next meeting. Our meeting theme is ASTROLOGY. Please sign up for a role at https://2972.toastmastersclubs.org/agenda.html

o Non-Chevron attendees please respond if you want to attend in person. PREREGISTRATION is required with Chevron security.

2. NO meeting September 5th due to the Labor Day holiday.

3. NEXT WEEK, August 29th will be our LAST hybrid meeting. We will continue to host meetings ONLINE ONLY, indefinitely. A new meeting invite will be sent to members.
o Going forward, we will occasionally offer a hybrid meeting for in-person attendees. We will send plenty of notice and details so that you can plan accordingly and hopefully join us in person.

4. There are 2 more upcoming Club Officer Training (COT) opportunities. ALL Members and Prospects are welcome to attend, and I encourage you to do so if your schedule permits. A small but impactful meeting yesterday‼️

️⬛️ THEME: Think Before You Speak - Before saying anything, pause and ask yourself these simple questions:
▪️ Does this need to be said? - Practice taking a deep breath and not reacting to every impulsive feeling. You’ll get better at learning to manage your emotions.
▪️ Does this need to be said now? - Learn to empathize with the emotions, needs, and concerns of other people. Developing good listening skills and being fully present in conversations will help you learn to read other people’s verbal and physical cues.
▪️ Is it kind? - Emotionally intelligent people are aware when they’re feeling frustrated, sad, or angry, and why they’re feeling that way. This makes them better able to manage their emotions without lashing out, and helps them communicate without judgement or defensiveness.
