Good morningโฃ๏ธ

I start my day with a fruit smoothie nearly every morning. Rather than waking up and eating a heavy breakfast, this is my go-to.

Eating a big breakfast requires a lot of energy to digest, which is why people get tired after eating big meals.

Instead, I have a fruit smoothie and then wait to eat a healthy breakfast until after 10am. Our bodies do their heaviest detoxing in the early morning hours. During sleep, the body is fasting. When you wake up, the body continues to detox until you eat Break-Fastโ€ฆ because youโ€™re literally breaking your bodies fast.

When you eat a heavy breakfast early in the morning, you are interrupting the bodies natural process. When you drink a fruit smoothie, you are helping the bodies natural process.

Because smoothies are loaded with fruits, they are also loaded with fiber. Itโ€™s the fiber that helps the body detox. This increase in fiber intake, lowers your risks of chronic illnesses, while increasing your overall health. The fiber also prevents blood sugar spikes, which is why people with type II diabetes have been known (and clinically proven) to reverse their diabetes on a high fruit, high fiber diet.

A daily smoothie also offers a super convenient way to get your fruits in while also nourishing your body with many essential vitamins and minerals.

My favorite smoothie recipe:

โ€ข 2 cups of mixed frozen strawberries, blueberries, blackberries & raspberries
