Six new artists have joined the Floyd Newsum Summer Studios 2026 cohort at Project Row Houses!

These artists will grow their creative practice in the historic neighborhood of Houston’s Third Ward. This program honors the late PRH co-founder, artist, and educator, Floyd Newsum, and his commitment to supporting student artists.

The program includes free studio space at Project Row Houses, and exclusive mentorship from accomplished local professionals in the arts.

Social Sculpture Saturday is a lively, inclusive arts-based event that invites the public to celebrate creativity, community, and culture once a month at Project Row Houses. 

On May 30th, you can experience:

* Indigo dyeing workshop
* Spray Art at the Public Art Park  
* Juke Joint Listening Session

We’re also hosting an Art Supply Drive for the George Smith Youth Art Camp and Teens in CTRL. You can donate items via the Amazon Wish list in our bio, or drop them off in person on May 30. 

Last week, participants attended a filmmaking workshop presented by Round 60 artist, Jay Clark at his production studio . From behind the scenes, they watched a live demonstration of how to document interviews and cinematography techniques.



Round 60 is currently on view at until May 31. PRH is open to the public every Wednesday - Sunday between 12pm-5pm. Admission is always free.

About the Round

Round 60 is a group exhibition featuring seven artists living and working across the U.S. who work primarily with photography and videography. Each uses the photographic image as an instrument of interruption and interpretation, amplifying and altering the urban landscape. The Round is offered as a Participating Space in conjunction with the FotoFest 2026 Biennial – Global Visions, celebrating that world-renowned festival’s 4th decade.
