Fit Houston Healthy City Walk Audit Training!
A walk audit is an organized assessment of a specific street, intersection, or neighborhood to evaluate how safe, accessible, and comfortable it is for pedestrians. During a walk audit, participants walk a designated route, observing and documenting barriers like missing sidewalks, lack of crosswalks, fast-moving traffic, or poor lighting. Walk audits are used by community groups, urban planners, and city officials to gather data, engage the public, and advocate for infrastructure improvements.
Fit Houston has done many walk audits in Fort Bend County and Harris County.
