A few ways to keep summer electric costs manageable:

🌡️ Set your thermostat to 78° when home, 82° when away. Each degree below 78° adds roughly 6% to your bill.
🪟 Close blinds on west and south-facing windows during peak heat (1 to 7 PM)
🔌 Unplug small appliances when not in use. Phantom load can add $15 to $30 per month
💧 Set the water heater to 120°F (anything hotter wastes energy)
💡 Swap any remaining incandescent bulbs for LEDs
⏰ Run dishwashers and laundry after 8 PM, when ERCOT grid demand drops
