๐ŸKindness๐Ÿ
My therapist asked me to describe a time that I was genuinely kind to the point where I wanted nothing in return.

I was 20 and homeless at the time. I hustled up enough money to get an apartment near the trade school I was attending. It was a beautiful victory for me! Even though I had no furniture, sleeping on a carpeted floor was way better than the abandoned office at my school that the security guard was kind enough to let me "squat" in was a beautiful change. Plus, it was MINE!

I had just enough money to go get some Ramen Noodles at the grocery store. Why lie, with thirty dollars you can eat like a Queen when your only meal was Ramen!

Walking into the store, I saw a homeless woman holding a toddler. The baby looked so malnourished and was crying most likely from the pain of being that hungry. The mother literally had tears swelling in her eyes asking people for money, but unfortunately being ignored.

I felt for her, but even as genuine as it all seemed, we all know about how people scam you out of your money pretending to be in desperate need....

I walked past her, but oddly she didn't ask me for money. I looked a hot mess to be honest and I dont want to bring race into this, but being African American, hair whipped around like I had gotten into a fight, and holes in my sweat pants doesn't exactly scream wealth.

We made eye contact, and in that moment, we connected. It was as if I saw her pain and she saw mine. Then I saw her child, screaming to the top of their lungs from pain or at least being effected by their mother's pain.

I didn't even hesitate...I just grabbed her hand (which startled her) and fi**ed my last $30 into her had and walked away back to my apartment swiftly so I didn't have time to change my mind.

๐ŸŒธWishing On A Star๐ŸŒธ

I really outdid myself with this one I think! When I say I used a million filters, I literally used a million filters.

Going back and forth between programs over and over and erasing here, adding there...it probably would have been way faster if I just drew it! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Since I can't draw for crap, this will have to do!
