Meet ✨SMIDGE✨

He’s 4 lbs of pure chaos.

A scruffy little Chihuahua mix who looks like someone spilled ink… and it turned into a puppy.

📍Coming soon to Seattle, WA

Almost 4 months old, Smidge may be tiny, but his personality is absolutely enormous. He runs through the house like a tiny speed demon, attacks toys twice his size, and explores the world like he owns it.

Confidence level: 10/10
Size: pocket edition

But when the zoomies are over? Smidge turns into the sweetest little cuddle bug who just wants to curl up with his person.

Basically… equal parts sass, speed, and snuggles.

If you’re looking for a purse-sized best friend with a huge personality, Smidge might be your guy.

Times have been tough in rescue. The shelters are full, adoptions are slow and rescuers are maxed out with limited resources to help animals. We can’t urge you enough to give the scared shelter animals a chance! Please don’t overlook adopting the scared ones.

Here’s a happy update on gorgeous Josie, a sweet 2 year old Poodle who was adopted from us over a year ago. While she looks like a princess now, Josie’s story wasn’t so magical.

Josie came from BARC Animal Shelter & Adoptions in Houston, Texas. She was pulled by one of our partner rescues, absolutely terrified with a bite warning. She was labeled “rescue only” and not available to the public which put her at a higher risk for euthanasia due to behavior. Texas shelters have their work cut out for them. Often overcrowded and underfunded, most of our area shelters lack the resources to rehab dogs exhibiting behavior issues in the shelter, which puts them at risk for euthanasia immediately. This is where the important work of rescues must step in.

Josie was an owner surrender. She was so badly matted that she needed to be sedated at the vet’s office and shaved down. It took her months to decompress in a foster home in Texas and get healthy enough for adoption, but it was difficult for Josie to find the right home, given how skittish and untrusting she could be of new people and animals. Josie was transferred to Doggedly to help her find a special home outside of Texas. She received so much adoption interest as a gorgeous white miniature poodle, but we knew she needed a very special home.

Josie was adopted by an amazing family in the Seattle area nearly 1 year ago, who had previously adopted a young poodle mix from the Korean meat trade with similar issues. As soon as they met Josie, it was love at first sight. We decided to start things out slowly as a foster situation, but once she was home, they quickly knew it would be forever. Josie’s dedicated family never gave up on her. They literally loved Josie back to life.

There are so many animals out there that need help, and each one of them deserve a chance. Just remember to always keep an open mind and heart to the scared ones, the less than perfect ones, and the ones that need a little extra help to thrive. Also please remember to support your shelter and rescue workers. We are tired and heartbroken, and so many of us are ready to give up. It’s amazing what love can do. ❤️

Photos below of Josie after being pulled from the shelter, plus some new updates of her living her best life in the Pacific Northwest! Thank you for everyone who supports rescue in even the smallest way. It makes such a difference.

Meet Pouglas and Pugsley!

These two adorable Puggles (pug and beagle mixes) were found as strays in the Houston area several weeks ago and needed help. Sadly, these cuties were not microchipped or neutered. Our best guess is that they were dumped by a breeder. We were able to get them into a foster home and the pups are now neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

Pugsley, the all red boy, is just a puppy at 6 months old. He’s a sweet, sassy little pup with an adorable cinnamon bun tail and hilarious personality. He is playful, friendly and loves other dogs, cats and kids. Pugsley will be traveling to Seattle next week and needs a foster or forever home.

Sadly, his dad Pouglas, with the adorable black mask, is heartworm positive and will need to undergo treatment in Houston prior to adoption. He is an amazing pup with a calm temperament, and has the cutest underbite we’ve ever seen. We would love to find a local Houston foster for Pouglas through heartworm treatment for the next 2 months.

Both pups are happy go lucky, silly little guys. They are potty trained, kennel trained and deserve a second chance at a wonderful life!

Please help us help them! Aside from fostering, we could also use help for Pouglas’s heartworm treatment cost, which will be around $300.

🆘 Washington foster needed!

Rye is dream kitten. He 12 weeks old and 3lbs, sweet, social and friendly with other cats and dogs.

Sadly, this little fella was adopted 3 weeks ago and broke with ringworm in his forever home. He went to the vet and was diagnosed with a few spots of ringworm. Ringworm is a fungal infection that is common in cats, especially kittens with their underdeveloped immune systems and can be triggered by transitional stress. Although it is contagious, it is highly curable and manageable. It is hardly a death sentence or a reason to abandon a sweet baby like Rye. We desperately need to find Rye a foster home to heal.

We are new to rescuing cats and are still building up our foster base in Washington for these babies who don’t have a chance in Texas. All supplies and medication for Rye’s recovery are covered by the rescue. This little guy needs to be quarantined for 2 weeks with a little TLC and time to heal.

Rye is already neutered, vaccinated, chipped and dewormed. He is a very sweet little kitten. Just look at his photos and see for yourself!
