For years I've been somewhat hesitant to perform my poems. I was content with people just reading them. I was comparing my work to other poets I've watched online and on TV. Then I went to my first poetry show. It was a bunch of great talent performing, and it was headlined by a friend of mine. Between her and my wife encouraging me, a seed was planted. I felt that my style and talent were just fine and I could hold my own on stage. I just had to do what I do and be me. So here I am, honing my skills, preparing to hit a stage somewhere. It'll probably be an open mic somewhere. I'll keep you guys posted on when and where. Thanks again for your support.

My youngest son just heard me reciting poems while I was in the shower and texted me that be liked them. That's a great feeling to have that type of support.
