V is for Voodoo

Li Grande Zombi and Damballah are closely related serpent spirits in Afro-Caribbean and African diasporic religions such as Vodou and New Orleans Voodoo. Both symbolize wisdom, fertility, creation, and life. Damballah, a major loa in Haitian Vodou, is depicted as a white serpent and represents purity and protection. Similarly, Li Grande Zombi is a revered spirit in New Orleans Voodoo, embodying the connection between the natural and spiritual realms. Although some practitioners view them as the same spirit under different names, interpretations can vary by tradition and practitioner.
