Started demo on this house last February thinking we were doing a pretty normal remodel and very quickly realized we had absolutely no clue what we had gotten ourselves into!! We originally planned on just renovating the downstairs and slowly working our way up but then came the bees, rats, mold, taking it to the studs, losing months with a bad contractor and basically starting over halfway through. It has been chaos! But somehow we are finally only a few months away from moving in and honestly when I look at these before photos compared to now it doesn’t even feel like the same house.

We definitely did not have the budget to hire someone to manage and design this (especially after all the surprises) so I’ve handled basically all of it myself. 😅 Truly don’t think I would’ve survived this remodel without my best friends answering unhinged group chat texts at all hours and our new contractor who completely saved this project because without him I would probably need to be institutionalized by now. This house has felt like a second full time job for over a year but seeing it finally come together is so exciting! Thank y’all for following along with all the random construction updates, samples, and chaos. We’re getting SOOO close!!
