Last week, Clay Evans from the composites sub-team did a design review for the X23 firewall!
This firewall would be made of carbon fiber pieces with the overall goal of protecting the driver from extreme heat conditions produced by the engine.
So with that being said, we thank you Clay for this design!

Introducing a member Monday spotlight!
Today we have Emma King, a 4th year Mechanical Engineer on the Chassis sub team who currently has 4 semesters on the MTU FSAE team!
Emma is currently working on her vehicle dynamics simulation capstone project, which will help improve the teamâs justification on any design changes made and weigh the importance of various vehicle aspects.
In the past, Emma has worked on the thermodynamic analysis of the brake rotors to determine and verify which type we wanted to run on the car.
Emma joined the FSAE team because she âwanted to gain more hands-on experience and get to be apart of the design, build, and test processesâ.
When asked what she enjoys the most about the FSAE team, Emma said she enjoys learning new skills that can be applied to the industry after graduation!
Thanks for the hard work Emma!
