Arkansas Weather Report
07/12/2026
We will see slightly cooler conditions this week with afternoon highs in the upper 80s and low 90s through most of the workweek. A few scattered showers and thunderstorms may be possible on Monday and Tuesday, but the better rain chances will arrive on Wednesday as a weak storm system moves across the region. Temperatures will then start to warm as we head into the weekend, with afternoon highs back in the mid 90s to close out the period.

Warm conditions will persist this week as high pressure remains settled over the region. Afternoon highs will be in the 90s each day, and heat indices could climb into the low 100s during peak heating hours. Some parts of Arkansas could see a few strong to severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon, with damaging straight-line winds and localized flooding the primary concerns. Otherwise, the rest of the workweek looks to be dry under mostly clear skies before low rain chances return over the weekend.

We will see multiple chances for rain this week as several mesoscale convective systems move across the region. These storms will have the potential to produce strong wind gusts, heavy rain, and frequent lightning, though the location, coverage, and intensity of the storms could vary significantly each day. Drier weather is forecast for the weekend, and temperatures will warm into the 90s under mostly clear skies to end the period.

This week’s weather will be a story of two halves. The period will start out hot and mostly dry, with afternoon highs in the upper 80s and low 90s under mostly sunny skies. As we head into the second half of the workweek, however, a tropical low is forecast to move north out of the Gulf and bring increased rain chances to the region. Significant rainfall may be possible through the weekend, but a lot will depend on the exact track and strength of the low. Stay weather aware!
