New planting design in the works, tomorrow we start it. This couple is wanting a large naturalistic corner bed to anchor their front yard filled with grasses and pollinator/bird friendly plants. And while we’re at it, they also need to be deer and rabbit resistant.

The existing yard was unfortunately let go for many years by the previous owners so they have been battling many invasives- buckthorn, Canadian thistle, garlic mustard and more as well as ages old grapevines and woody shrubs left to multiply. They have made great strides already to clear out as much as possible. We have also found a few gems as well; lots of bearded iris and big clumps of peonies; looking forward to seeing what colors they will be.

Let us all remember that the Earth does not belong to us. We are lucky enough to have been given Earth as a home and it is up to us all to care for her. What we do to her, we do to humanity. And so, while a day dedicated to her is nice; truly, every day is EARTH DAY.
