Godspeed Adventures
Aloha from a rather drenched Hawaii...
While you may have seen news of the damage caused by heavy rains here in Hawaii, much of the impact is isolated to specific areas like the North Shore of Oahu and other specific locations around the island.. It is often assumed that the entire island or state is affected to the degree shown on the news, but that is not the case. We saw a similar misunderstanding during the devastating Maui wildfires, which unfortunately led many travelers to cancel their trips, even to Oahu, the Big Island and Kauai.
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the recent weather. Beyond our prayers, if you or someone you know lives on Oahu and needs assistance, please do not hesitate to ask us! If we are not on tour, we are happy to come help you in any way we can.
The good news is that the rain is letting up. The forecast shows significant improvement starting tomorrow, Sunday, and our normal trade winds are expected to return next week, bringing sunshine and clear skies.
Please watch this 1-minute video. All of the photos and clips were captured by me just this past week during my last 4 tours, in the midst of the storm and breaks in between. These highlights show that there are still amazing, beautiful locations to explore, even amidst intermittent showers. One of the benefits of our Godspeed Adventure tours is that we are not limited to one location; we track the weather radar to find "pockets of sunshine" and move in that direction. While a few locations may be temporarily inaccessible, there are so many more we can visit without limitations.
I always say, "If you want rainbows and waterfalls, you've got to get some rain." We have had enough rain for now and everything is so beautifully green. So, if you are coming to Hawaii over the next couple of weeks, particularly to Oahu, please comeāthe weather is getting better!
Much Aloha, Blue Skies & Godspeed!
