A magazine asked me for pictures of the farms we work with and I had to hunt (LIKE HUNT) because I only take video 😂 Note to self: stills are still necessary. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Truth in Labeling Pt1🍵 Earlier this week I took a poll on our stories & asked “should companies advertising on their products be obligated to say what % of ingredients actually come from Hawaii?” Out of 88 responses 87 people said yes. . .

But here’s the truth, companies can “sprinkle” in a litttttle tiny bit of locally grown ingredients & then use Hawaii’s name to sell it.

That’s why truth in labeling is so important to us as a brand, but also to me as a consumer. If I buy a product labeled “Hawaii Grown” it’s because I want to support local farmers, local agriculture, &/or local makers.

As a consumer, if I found out (for example) the Hawaii Grown Green Tea I purchased from a small family farm actually consisted of 10% from that small farm, 90% Chinese Sencha purchased from a third party merchant, I would be devastated. But that’s just me. How about you? Let me know in the comments 👇🏾🫶🏾

& stay tuned for part 2, “Truth in Labeling: Who suffers from Misleading Labeling”
