Hope my post helps some people who may have the same problem. I have not had a nosebleed for decades. On Sept. 14, 2024 my nose bled for no reason. I pressed on my nose with my fingers and the blood flow stopped. It happened 8 times since then. I saw my physician and she said that it was not serious but I needed to see an Ear Nose Throat (ENT) doctor. I was waiting for a referral appointment and it didn't happen. I had to go to Draper Utah to help my wife babysit Becky Lee Knight and Jesse Knight's 4 daughters. I took the flight with kleenex in my pockets in case I got a nose bleed. The flight was ok but I bled again on Sunday, the day I arrived in Utah. Went to emergency and they packed my nose with gauze to stop the bleeding and had to go see an ENT doctor in Utah. I had no idea who to see. Fortunately Carter Chow my son in law grew up in Utah and has doctor friends and got introduced to an ENT specialist who happens to have an office in Draper. He saw me on Tuesday. He treated what he thought was the area where the blood vessel was bleeding with a chemical which usually works 80% of the time. Two days later my nose bled again and it would not stop for an hour. The ENT doctor squeezed me in and he did a scope on the nose and saw a bigger blood vessel that was leaking and he did an electric treatment which burns the skin and plugs up the vessel so it doesn't bleed again. I could see the work being done on a monitor and could smell the flesh burn. It has been two days since the electric treatment and so far so good. I didn't realize how common nose bleeds are that needs to be cauterized. Google search cauterize for nose bleed and there is a lot of information that I learned. The ENT doctor told me that the electric burn should last a long time. Take care of your nose. Don't blow hard, don't pick your nose, keep the noise moist, etc. I won't share with the picture of the bloody kleenexes during the last nosebleed. I am posting a nose clamp that I got from emergency. It worked on some nosebleeds but not on the last one that would not stop bleeding. Hope you or your family don't go through this troublesome problem. Take care.
