Aloha City Activities Program

A nice time was had by all at the Honolulu Contemporary Museum. Our docent engaged students in stories behind the art and the people who create it. We also met the artist in residence, Fay Ku. The art and atmosphere of the location drew students in. This was one of my favorite events.

Last Saturday, February 6 we enjoyed the Honolulu Nature Center at Makiki Valley. First, we learned about native Hawaiian plants and animals at the Hawaii Nature Center. Then we braved the wild and hiked along one of the area's pristine public trails. Mr. Blue Bird on your shoulder? Well, in this case it was the Red Billed Hawaiian Thrush enjoying some the African Tulips in bloom at the time!
