Last but not least, our final musician to spotlight is Dr. Sung Chan Chang, Cello! Catch him performing in the upcoming First Mondays Concert this Monday, April 13, 7:00 p.m. Join us!

Sung Chan began playing the cello at age 7. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree from the Korean National University of Arts in 2008, a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School in 2010, an Artist Diploma from Yale University in 2012, and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Northwestern University in 2020. Currently, he is the Associate Principal cellist at the Hawai‘i Symphony Orchestra and is a cellist of the Galliard Quartet. Sung Chan made his debut with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and has performed with the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen Orchestra, Music Academy Festival Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Chamber Orchestra, and Seoul National Symphony. He has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician at Carnegie Hall, Peter Jay Sharp Theater in Lincoln Center, and Seoul Arts Center. His festival appearances include Music Academy of the West, The Perlman Music Program, Aspen Music Festival, and Bowdoin International Music Festival.
