We're tracking two different scenarios for the remnants of Hurricane Fernanda. Forecast scenario 1 has the center of the low pressure system weakening before it arrives in Hawaii. Heavy rainfall is expected on the Big Island. However, West Maui may not see as much rainfall in this forecast option.
Forecast scenario 2 sees a deeper low pressure system approaching the eastern parts of the state. Heavy rainfall would be possible all across Maui and the Big Island.
We're tracking this system closely because of how it could impact the ongoing Maui recovery efforts. Keep up with us to get the latest forecast.
