Another little one needs your prayers.

Sweet Tilly has been feeling very puny and just not herself. Her appetite has dropped dramatically, she’s running a low-grade fever, and although we’ve looked her over from head to toe, we can’t find anything obvious externally. Today she’s at the veterinarian having blood work done, and we’re hoping we’ll have some answers soon.

This is one of the hardest parts of rescue work in Texas. These dogs come off the streets having to battle everything imaginable—fleas, ticks, intestinal worms, heartworms, Chagas disease, and now even the threat of screwworm. Their little bodies have been through so much before they ever make it to safety.

It’s a heartbreaking reminder of why getting dogs off the streets as quickly as possible matters. Our communities are filled with animals that are suffering, and whether you rescue directly from the streets or work in a shelter, you see the toll it takes every single day.
