🌸 Spathoglottis plicata, commonly known as the Philippine Ground Orchid, is one of the world’s most widely cultivated terrestrial orchids. Native to Southeast Asia and the southwestern Pacific, it grows in the ground rather than on trees and is easily recognized by its pleated leaves and upright spikes of purple flowers. In warm climates, it can bloom nearly year-round, making it a standout in tropical landscapes and botanical collections alike.

This past weekend, we were honored to attend the 74th Annual FNGLA Convention at the iconic Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida.

I am deeply honored to have been formally elected as President-Elect of the Florida Nursery, Growers & Landscape Association. I look forward to serving alongside an outstanding Board of Directors, dedicated officers, and the exceptional FNGLA staff as we continue advancing and strengthening Florida’s green industry.

The weekend was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the past year while looking ahead with enthusiasm and purpose. I am especially grateful for the friendships, collaboration, and shared commitment that make this organization so special. When passionate people come together with a common vision, we can accomplish great things for our members, our industry, and the communities we serve.
