💙 THANK YOU, LOTTO ALASKA! 💙

Today, Homer Senior Citizens, Inc. was honored to receive $22,616.30from Lotto Alaska through its June distribution. We are incredibly grateful for this investment in our mission and our community.

What many people don't realize is that every Lotto Alaska ticket sold helps support local Alaska nonprofits. Unlike traditional lotteries where proceeds leave the community, Lotto Alaska distributes a significant portion of its revenue directly to nonprofit organizations across the state—organizations that provide essential services to Alaskans every day.

For HSC, these funds help us continue providing:

🏡 Assisted Living services
🍽️ Meals on Wheels and congregate meals
🚐 Senior transportation
🏠 Affordable senior housing
❤️ Programs that help older adults remain healthy, independent, and connected

We were also honored to celebrate alongside our friends at Hospice of Homer, who received the same generous distribution. Together, these investments strengthen the network of care available to our community.

To everyone who purchases Lotto Alaska tickets—thank you. Every ticket purchased helps make a real difference for organizations like ours and the people we serve.

Congratulations to the entire Lotto Alaska team for continuing to support nonprofits throughout Alaska. Your partnership helps ensure that local organizations can continue improving lives, one community at a time.

⚠️ Bear Awareness Reminder ⚠️

A black bear was seen near the trash area in the Terrace parking lot last night, this is a good reminder that we do have bear activity in the neighborhood.

Please stay alert when coming to and from the Center, especially near parking areas, dumpsters, wooded edges, and entrances.

A few important bear-aware reminders:

* Do not approach or attempt to take close photos of a bear.

* Give bears plenty of space.

* Make noise when walking outside so you do not surprise one.

* Do not run if you see a bear.

* Keep trash, food, pet food, bird seed, and other attractants secured.

* Please report any bear sightings around the building or parking areas to staff.

Thank you for helping keep our residents, visitors, staff, and neighborhood bears safe!
