First homeless shelter in Massachusetts that allows pets opens in Northampton 12/22/2024

Congrats to CSO and all the folks working there. This could very potentially help save lives and improve quality of life for people reluctant to enter a shelter system because they have a pet. Most people who have had a pet can empathize with how this might be difficult for folks.

REMINDER: Join us on-line for a two-day "Harm Reduction Approach to Self-Injury" workshop on either Tuesday, November 12 and Thursday, November 14 OR Monday December 9th and Tuesday December 10th that will explore the reasons why people self-injure, different types of self-injury, why people self-injure and how to support people who are self-injuring in the most effective way possible (including managing our own fears so they don’t get in the way or drive us to do something that is more harm than help).

Each day will run 12pm to 4pm Eastern (11am to 3pm Central, 10am to 2pm Mountain, 9am to 1pm Pacific, etc.)

This workshop is open to anyone including clinicians, peer supporters, family members, first responders and others interested in learning how to better support a person who is self-injuring. Trainers (Jennifer Tirado and Liz Mombourquette) will be people who have histories of self-injury themselves and will share some of their own story.

A note about cost: Tickets are available on a sliding scale. However, if the current prices are not accessible for you or if you are a Wildflower employee who should be registering for free, please e-mail us at [email protected] so we can work with you to get registered.
