Recovery First Treatment Center
What's keeping people from asking for help?
Before you answer, consider this:
Maybe they can't afford it.
Maybe they don't have childcare.
Maybe their family doesn't believe in mental health treatment.
Maybe they've had a bad experience with the healthcare system.
Maybe they're afraid of being judged.
Too often, we assume someone isn't asking for help because they don't want it, they're "not ready," or they're in denial
The reality is that many people face barriers long before they ever pick up the phone.
During Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month, let's challenge ourselves to look beyond assumptions, listen with compassion, and remove the barriers that keep people from getting help.
If one of these barriers has been keeping you or someone you love from reaching out, today can be the day that changes. Send us a message or call the number in the comments.

Recovery doesn't happen alone, but your friends may not always know how to support you.
Sometimes, the best thing you can do is tell them!
It might sound like:
🙅"Please don't offer me a drink."
🥗 "Can we meet somewhere that isn't a bar?"
❤️ "Check in on me if I've been quiet."
The people who care about you want to help. Sometimes they just need to know how.
Recovery becomes stronger when the people around you know how to walk beside you.💜
No one knows why there's a T. rex dancing on the beach.
We're just assuming it's celebrating everyone with a July soberversary. 🦖🎉
Whether you're marking one month, one year, or another trip around the sun in recovery, your progress is worth celebrating. Every milestone represents courage, growth, and a whole lot of hard work!
Keep going. Keep growing. And never underestimate the power of a good victory dance.
Congratulations on how far you've come. We're celebrating with you. 💙
