One of the last steps to finishing yarn in preparation for ! There are about 800 skeins left to twist, and then they all need labels. We’re making progress!

This yarn is one of our Breed Specific (BS) Yarns - Cheviot Bulky in “Ballyhoo” - a rich, saturated navy blue. We’ll have a bunch of it at the festival!

Shearing season is the best! Had the pleasure of purchasing four *gorgeous* fleeces from again this year - plus the treat of seeing Ann Marie for a few minutes! ❤️ The Cormo and Suffolk/Romney sheep they raise produce absolutely stunning wool. I can’t wait to dig into these - two years’ worth of fiber from these big sheep will make a lot of yarn!

Our fiber family - people like Nadine - is the reason we do what we do. This season has been a struggle. But this project, and seeing Nadine’s smile, brought joy and love and pride and a reminder that while everything may not be good, good is still there for us to find.

This project started with Nadine’s beautiful flock of seven sheep - Finn, Finn x Romney, and little Ygret (a rescue). We had the honor of spinning each fleece into 2-ply DK yarn. I held back a bit and knit this shawl for her - each section with a different sheep from her flock. Every shepherd should be able to wear her sheep.
