The problem with blame is that it's easy.

When something is someone else's fault, it means there's nothing you can do about it. You're off the hook. No action required.

But blame is also expensive, and the cost is ownership of your life: your power.

Even when a situation genuinely isn't your fault — and sometimes it really isn't — you still have a choice about what happens next. That choice is where personal accountability lives. Not in who caused the problem, but in what you're going to do about it.

Things will happen. They always do. The question is whether you're going to wait for someone else to fix it, or decide what you're going to do next.
