Understanding Closed Session Meetings

We've received several questions recently about Closed Session meetings and wanted to take a moment to explain how they work under North Carolina State law.

The purpose of this meeting is to conduct a Closed Session pursuant to North Carolina law for the Attorney-Client Privilege.

The meeting is open to the public at the beginning of the meeting. After the Council votes to enter Closed Session, the public will be asked to leave the Council Chambers. Once the Closed Session has concluded, the public may return for the Council's reconvening and adjournment.
