🛁 How Often Should My Dog REALLY Get a Bath? 🐶

One of the questions we hear most often is:

“How often should I bathe my dog?”

The answer is… it depends!

Every dog is different based on their breed, coat type, activity level, skin condition, and lifestyle.

Here’s a general guideline:

🐾 Short-haired dogs: Every 4–8 weeks helps remove dirt, loose hair, oils, and keeps the skin healthy.

🐾 Long-haired or curly-coated dogs: Usually every 4–6 weeks to help prevent tangles, mats, and excessive coat buildup.

🐾 Dogs that swim, visit the beach, hike, or love rolling in the grass: They often benefit from more frequent bathing to remove salt, sand, pollen, dirt, and other debris from the coat.

🐾 Dogs with allergies or certain skin conditions: Your veterinarian may recommend a medicated bathing schedule that’s different from the average dog.

🚫 A common myth: “Bathing your dog too often is bad for their skin.”

With today’s high-quality, moisturizing shampoos and conditioners, regular bathing is actually an important part of maintaining healthy skin and a healthy coat. Using the right products and following up with proper drying and brushing is what makes the difference.

Remember, grooming isn’t just about keeping your dog looking clean—it’s about removing dead coat, reducing odors, keeping the skin healthy, and helping your best friend stay comfortable year-round.

❤️ At Fur Around and Find Out Mobile Dog Grooming, we tailor every grooming schedule to your dog’s individual needs because no two dogs are exactly alike.

🪮🐾 Think your dog is tangle-free? Your comb might tell a different story! 🐾

One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is:

“I brush my dog every day!”

That’s wonderful, but here’s the secret…

👉 A brush can glide right over mats hiding deep in the coat.
👉 A comb tells the truth.

Professional groomers don’t just brush, we brush AND comb to make sure we’re reaching all the way to the skin.

What is line brushing?

Instead of brushing over the top of the coat, line brushing means working in small sections from the skin outward. After each section is brushed, a comb is used to check that it slides through easily from the skin to the ends of the hair.

If the comb gets stuck, there’s still a tangle hiding underneath!

✨ Why is this important?
• Helps prevent painful mats.
• Allows air to reach the skin.
• Reduces pulling and discomfort during grooming.
• Keeps your dog’s coat healthier between appointments.
• Makes future grooming appointments faster and more comfortable.

🐶 Pro Tip: If you can only get your brush through the top layer of coat, your dog may already be developing hidden mats near the skin.

Not sure if you’re brushing correctly? We’d be happy to demonstrate proper line brushing during your next appointment. Our goal isn’t just to groom your dog—we want to help you keep them comfortable and healthy between visits.

❤️ A few minutes of proper brushing each week can make a world of difference for your best friend.

At Fur Around and Find Out we are happy to educate owners on how to properly brush and comb your dog!

🇺🇸🐾 SAVE, SHARE, and POST These Numbers Before the Fireworks Begin! 🐾🇺🇸

The Fourth of July is one of the busiest holidays for emergency veterinary clinics. Between fireworks, cookouts, heat, and accidental exposure to unsafe foods, it’s always better to be prepared before an emergency happens.

📱 Take a minute today to save these important numbers in your phone. We hope you never need them, but if you do, you’ll be glad they’re just a tap away.

🐶 Keep this post handy, share it with fellow pet parents, and help spread the word so more pets stay safe this Independence Day.

From all of us at Fur Around and Find Out Mobile Dog Grooming, we wish you and your furry family members a safe, happy, and tail-wagging 4th of July! ❤️🤍💙🐾

💬 Feel free to tag a fellow dog owner so they have these emergency contacts too!

🇺🇸🐾 The 4th of July is all about family… and that includes our dogs! 🐾🇺🇸

As the burgers hit the grill and the picnic tables fill up, it’s tempting to share a bite with those adorable puppy eyes. While some holiday foods are perfectly safe in moderation, others can be dangerous—or even life-threatening—for our furry friends.

A few dog-friendly favorites include:
🍉 Seedless watermelon (rind removed)
🫐 Blueberries
🥕 Carrots
🍗 Plain grilled chicken (no seasoning or sauces)

Foods that should stay off your dog’s plate include:
🚫 Grapes & raisins
🚫 Onions & garlic
🚫 Chocolate
🚫 Corn on the cob
🚫 Alcohol
🚫 Fatty or heavily seasoned foods

A little planning can help your pup enjoy the holiday safely right alongside the family.

❤️🤍💙 We hope everyone has a fun, safe, and tail-wagging Independence Day!

🇺🇸🐾 4th of July Fun Starts with Keeping Your Pup Safe! 🐾🇺🇸

The Fourth of July is one of the busiest—and unfortunately one of the most stressful—holidays for our furry family members. Whether you’re spending the day at the beach, grilling with friends, or watching fireworks, here are a few simple ways to help keep your dog safe:

🎆 Create a quiet space indoors. Fireworks can be frightening, even for dogs that don’t normally seem anxious.

🏷️ Double-check ID tags and microchip information. More pets go missing around the Fourth of July than almost any other holiday.

☀️ Watch the heat. Hot pavement and beach sand can burn sensitive paw pads. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

💧 Bring plenty of fresh water. Saltwater isn’t safe to drink, and dehydration can happen quickly during summer adventures.

🌭 Skip the table scraps. Hot dogs, corn on the cob, onions, grapes, chocolate, alcohol, and foods containing xylitol can all be dangerous for dogs.

🐕 Exercise early. A long walk or play session in the morning can help your dog relax before the evening festivities begin.

As you celebrate our nation’s birthday, we hope you and your four-legged family members have a fun, safe, and tail-wagging holiday.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from all of us at Fur Around and Find Out Mobile Dog Grooming! ❤️🤍💙

5 Signs Your Dog Is Due for a Grooming (That Have Nothing to Do with Looking Dirty!) 🐾

Most people think it’s time for a groom when their dog starts looking scruffy. But often, your dog has been trying to tell you long before that!

Here are five common signs to watch for:

1️⃣ They’re licking or chewing their paws more than usual.
Overgrown hair around the paw pads can trap dirt, moisture, pollen, and other debris that may cause irritation.

2️⃣ They have that “doggy smell.”
Even if they don’t look dirty, natural oils, saliva, dirt, and bacteria can build up in the coat and create unwanted odors.

3️⃣ You hear their nails clicking on hard floors.
If your dog’s nails are making that familiar “click-click-click” sound as they walk, they’re likely overdue for a trim. Long nails can affect posture, change the way a dog walks, and put extra stress on their joints over time.

4️⃣ Their coat feels rough, tangles easily, or is starting to mat.
A healthy coat should feel soft and be free of tight tangles. Mats don’t just look bad—they can pull on the skin, trap moisture, and become painful if left untreated.

5️⃣ They take forever to dry after getting wet.
A coat packed with loose undercoat or dead hair holds onto water much longer, which can contribute to skin irritation and that lingering “wet dog” smell.

✨ Regular grooming is about so much more than appearance. It helps keep your dog’s skin healthy, coat manageable, nails comfortable, and allows small issues to be noticed before they become bigger problems.

At Fur Around and Find Out Mobile Dog Grooming, we believe every dog deserves to look great, feel comfortable, and stay healthy from nose to tail. That’s why every grooming appointment is focused on your pet’s overall well-being—not just a fresh haircut. 💜🐾

💬 Which of these signs tells you it’s time to schedule your dog’s next groom?

🐶 “But I brush my dog… why is there still hair everywhere?” 🐾

If you’ve ever wondered why your dog seems to shed year-round, you’re not alone! Shedding is a completely natural process, and understanding why it happens can help you keep both your dog and your home healthier.

🐕 Here’s why dogs shed:

✨ Hair has a life cycle. Just like human hair, dog hair grows, rests, and eventually falls out so new, healthy hair can take its place.

🌸 Seasonal coat changes. Many dogs “blow” their coats in the spring and fall as they prepare for warmer or cooler weather. Even indoor dogs often shed because artificial lighting and climate-controlled homes can affect their natural cycle.

🩺 Health matters. Nutrition, stress, allergies, hormones, and certain medical conditions can all influence how much a dog sheds. Sudden or excessive hair loss is always worth discussing with your veterinarian.

🛁 Regular grooming makes a huge difference. While no groomer can stop a dog from shedding completely, routine bathing with quality shampoos and conditioners helps loosen dead coat, while professional blow-outs and thorough brushing remove much of that hair before it ends up on your furniture, clothes, and floors.

The result? A cleaner, healthier coat, healthier skin, and less fur floating around your home between grooming appointments.

At Fur Around and Find Out Mobile Dog Grooming, we love helping pet owners stay ahead of the shedding season. We can’t make your dog stop shedding, but we can help keep that loose coat where it belongs: in our trailer instead of your home.
