The Brawn Mixer MTO Series is designed for high-capacity mixing volumes over 500,000 gallons, in either open- or closed-tanks with application-specific seal designs. This Brawn Mixer MTO Series is engineered with a double mechanical seal that includes a lifting device to simplify seal changes.
The MTO Series large-volume liquid mixer is designed for either batch- or continuous-mixing processes in industries including minerals processing, chemical processing, battery production, and polymers production.
The engineered-to-application axial counter-flow impellers are designed with two blades to create down-flow in the center of the tank and up-flow at the wall, enabling homogeneous mixing.

See the process advantage of good liquid mixing; an even distribution of particles, versus poor liquid mixing, where particles accumulate and vortex formation occurs. Oftentimes, operators see a vortex and believe that accurate blending is achieved. However, it is shown here that good liquid mixing displays no vortex motion.
Good liquid mixing begins with the mixer placed center over the tank, with two to four equally spaced baffles in the vessel. This enables the impeller to best direct liquid flow in the tank. Accurate liquid mixer positioning leads to even particle distribution and uniform suspension.

The Brawn Mixer applications engineering team designs impellers for liquid mixing systems. High-shear impellers are used in dispersion, emulsion, and particle-reduction applications where a combination of liquids, or a combination of liquids and solids, may be present. Applications requiring high-shear mixing occur in industries including chemical, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food and beverage, adhesive, coatings, and minerals.
The Brawn Mixer RHP6 and R906 impellers effectively blend liquids and gases in two-phase mixing applications, including chemical foaming agents, aerosol products, or carbonated beverage products. The RHP6 impeller is designed for use in reactor tanks to facilitate chemical reactions and enable accurate mixing of the liquid components.
The Brawn Mixer sawtooth impeller provides high-shear mixing where dispersion of materials is required; it is used in processes including dissolving, emulsifying, and de-agglomerating solids. The sawtooth impeller is also used in processes including clay slurry preparation, pigment dispersion, flavor emulsification, polymer blending, and paper coating.
