All In Together

Just ran the numbers and it turns out women only represent about a third of our elected positions despite making up 51% of the population.
Let's fix that. It's in Maine, Nevada, North Dakota, and South Carolina.

7,000 people's lives will be affected by the leadership of one person and it appears no one in this Long Island town is up eager for the responsibility. Bayville is a small town that is set to vote for their newest mayor on June 16th. One small issue? No one is running for office.
So what happens? Instead of having a handful of candidates to choose from, voters will head to the polls only to be me with a blank line where they can write in their nomination and whoever ends up with the most votes wins.
What are your thoughts? Have we forgotten the importance of local politics? Why isn't anyone running for office? Why are people running uncontested across the U.S.?

Honestly, where do we even begin? So much of women's health data has just been extrapolated from the research conducted on male bodies. 🚩
Why? Well, it seems no one wants to study women because our hormones can skew the data they say. So where does that leave us? Women account for nearly 80% of all autoimmune disease diagnoses 🚩 Men face a higher rate of heart attacks but women face higher fatality rates because of them (that may have something to do with women's symptoms presenting differently but men's symptoms being what are most known). 🚩
What about the fact that the first menstrual product absorbency tests using real blood didn't happen until 2023? Yeah, that blue dye on the commercials? Turns out it isn't just for advertising. 🚩
We could go on...
This is why we need more women in leadership. We need women to advocate for our bodies and our healthcare. We need women in office who will fight for legislation that protects us.
