How to make holiday decor feel cozy, elevated, and never kitschy ✨
3 interior designer tips we swear by:
✨ 1) Our tried & true tip: Layer textures, not novelty.
Fur, velvet, and knits instantly add warmth and depth without feeling themed. Think plush throws, layered pillows, velvet bows tied onto a chandelier or mirror — these swaps make a space feel luxe, inviting, and intentional (without the clutter).
✨ 2) Our most underrated tip: Swap the art.
Seasonal artwork is one of the fastest ways to change the mood of a room. A wintery landscape or richer, moodier piece can immediately shift the vibe and give subtle chalet energy — no ornaments required.
✨ 3) Our bold tip: Rethink the mantel.
If you’re craving a statement, start here. Skip the traditional garland and try something unexpected — shearling or velvet stockings, an all-candle moment, or a sculptural centerpiece. One strong idea > lots of little holiday things.

Our latest obsession: the built-in banquette. Equal parts function and fun, it saves space, adds hidden storage, and makes room for pattern play. And let’s be honest… who doesn’t love a booth?
Here are our three tips when adding a banquette:
1️⃣ if creating a custom banquette, make sure to add storage like in the seat or on the sides. Even a few inches of space can make for great storage (like for wine bottles).
2️⃣performance fabric on the seat is a must - but don’t be scared to play with interesting patterns. We love using a different fabric on the seat vs. the back to add visual interest.
3️⃣ layer in lighting: overhead pendants, wall sconces, or even a statement chandelier can define the dining area. Lighting should feel warm and inviting, like your favorite corner booth at a restaurant.
