โ˜€๏ธ What a Wonderful Way to End Our Summer Learning Program! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿง

Today, our students celebrated an incredible summer of learning with a special walking field trip to the library! They explored how to find and check out books, discovered new stories to enjoy, and experienced one of the greatest gifts a community can offer a love of reading.

After our library visit, we enjoyed a picnic lunch together and cooled off with delicious snow cones to celebrate all of their hard work and accomplishments.

At RTS Learning Foundation, we believe that learning should be engaging, meaningful, and fun. Whether students are strengthening their reading and math skills, exploring STEM, or creating lifelong memories with friends, every experience is an opportunity to grow.

As we close another successful summer, our hearts are full of gratitude, for our amazing students, supportive families, dedicated staff, and community partners who made this program possible.

This may be the end of our summer program, but itโ€™s only the beginning. Weโ€™re excited to continue supporting students through our High-Impact After-School Tutoring Program this school year!

Thank you for being part of the RTS Learning Foundation family. โค๏ธ

๐ŸŒบ Aloha Week was a blast at RTS Learning Foundation! ๐ŸŒบ

This week, our students combined STEM and summer fun through exciting hands-on activities! They explored basic engineering by building mini motors with propellers and got creative making their own edible beach desserts. Learning is always more meaningful when students can explore, create, and have fun together.

Weโ€™re so proud of our studentsโ€™ curiosity, teamwork, and enthusiasm. Hereโ€™s to another week of learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ’™

We had an eventful week at our Summer Learning Program as we kicked off STEM Week! Our students have been excited and engaged as they explored new concepts and discovered the world around them.

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Elizabeth Wieser from the Hobbs Campaign for Grade Level Reading. Her enthusiasm and energy during story time captivated our students and reinforced the joy of reading. Students also revived FREE books!

Thanks to STEM Innovation Network for the STEM kits. Students also learned about Ingenuity, the innovative helicopter that flew on Mars, and had the opportunity to create their own helicopter models. Thanks to Elvin Wallace for making the day even more exciting, students got an up-close look at a drone and learned about how these amazing technologies work.

Itโ€™s an exciting time to be a learner at RTS Learning Foundation, where we are truly โ€œWild for Learning!โ€ ๐Ÿš๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿš€๐ŸŒŽ

NMOST Leadership Institute 2026 ๐ŸŽ“โœจ

What an incredible journey! I completed the NMOST Leadership Institute 2026 and am walking away with new knowledge, new perspectives, and a renewed passion for leadership.

One of the greatest gifts of this experience was connecting with so many talented individuals from across New Mexico. From artists to dancers, storytellers to songwriters, educators to community leaders, each person brought unique gifts, experiences, and ideas that enriched our learning.

In fact, somewhere along the way, I even found myself writing lyrics to what could be the NMOST theme song! Thatโ€™s how inspiring and energizing this experience was. The creativity, passion, and talent in this cohort were simply contagious.

This experience reminded me that leadership is not about walking alone. It is about building relationships, learning from others, and working together to create positive change in our communities.

Thank you to everyone who was part of this journey. The training may be complete, but the impact will continue for years to come.

We are NMOST, and we will always be Doing the Most! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Today, as part of our Super Hero Week, our students had the honor of meeting a real-life hero from our community, Antonio De La Fuente, a retired Army officer and retired Hobbs Police Department detective.

Through Antonioโ€™s community connections, he also made it possible for active officers from the Hobbs Police Department and the Eunice Police Department to visit and spend time with our students.

Antonio shared stories about his years of service and contributions to our community, while encouraging students to recognize that we can all be superheroes every day through acts of kindness, leadership, courage, responsibility, and service to others.

Our students were engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and enjoyed learning from individuals who have dedicated their lives to serving and protecting others. Experiences like these help students understand that real heroes are not just found in movies or comic books,
they are people who make a positive difference in the lives of others every day.

A special thank you to Antonio De La Fuente, the Hobbs Police Department, and the Eunice Police Department for taking the time to inspire our students and make this experience so meaningful.

๐Ÿ’™ Circle Time & Social-Emotional Learning ๐Ÿ’™

One of the highlights of our first day was Circle Time! Students gathered together to build connections, practice active listening, share their thoughts, and learn more about one another.

At RTS Summer Reading Program, we believe that learning goes beyond academics. Through Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), students develop important life skills such as communication, self-awareness, empathy, teamwork, and respect for others.

Creating a safe and supportive environment helps students feel comfortable taking risks, participating in discussions, and growing as learners.

It was wonderful to see so many students engaged, raising their hands, sharing ideas, and beginning to build a strong learning community. We are excited for all the growth, learning, and memories that will be made over the next few weeks!
