1 Thessalonians 5:15
“Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each
other and for everyone else.”
This verse speaks directly into moments when emotions are high and fairness feels personal. Our
instinct is often to protect ourselves by responding in kind—but Scripture calls us to a higher way.
Not repaying wrong for wrong does not mean ignoring injustice or denying pain. It means refusing to
let hurt shape our character or dictate our response. God invites us to act from strength, not
retaliation.
Paul’s instruction goes further: always strive to do good. This is an active choice, especially when
circumstances are tense or disappointing. Doing good keeps our hearts free and our consciences
clear, even when outcomes are uncertain.
Choosing what is good for others—and for everyone else—reflects trust that God sees, judges rightly,
and works beyond what we can control. It allows us to move forward without carrying resentment or
bitterness.
Today, let this verse guide your response. Where you feel wronged, choose restraint. Where you feel
tempted to react, choose wisdom. God honors a heart that seeks peace and goodness, even in
difficult seasons.

Matthew 24:44
“You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
Jesus speaks these words not to create fear, but to call His followers to awareness. Readiness is not
about predicting events or living in anxiety about the future. It is about how we live today.
To be ready means living with a steady heart—faithful in everyday decisions, honest in our actions,
generous in our love, and attentive to God’s presence now. Jesus reminds us that the future is not
ours to control, but today is ours to live well.
This verse warns against postponing faithfulness. It challenges the habit of saying “later” to
obedience, trust, forgiveness, or alignment with God’s will. Readiness is choosing to live aligned now,
not waiting for certainty or perfect conditions.
When life feels uncertain, this verse grounds us. We don’t prepare by panicking or trying to figure
everything out. We prepare by staying rooted, responsible, and faithful in the present moment.
Today, let readiness look like steadiness. Live awake, not afraid. Whatever comes, choose to be
found faithful—one intentional step at a time.

God Does Not Break His Children
Life breaks us in ways we never choose. Loss, grief, and suffering enter our lives without permission,
leaving wounds that shape how we see the world.
God is not the author of that breaking. Scripture reveals a Father who draws near to the brokenhearted,
who binds wounds, and who remains present when pain feels unbearable.
Suffering is not a requirement for usefulness, and pain is not proof of calling. God does not crush His
children to prepare them. He walks with them, restores them, and redeems what the world has damaged.
What was broken was never wasted—not because God caused it, but because He is faithful to meet us in
it. In His hands, even the deepest wounds can become places of compassion, strength, and hope for
others.
If you are broken today, it does not mean God failed you or needed to teach you a lesson. It means you
were loved in the middle of the storm—and you are still being held as you take one more step forward.
