NMJC Workforce Development

The future of energy is bright! ⚡

We were excited to welcome the Permian Strategic Partnership Energy Internship students to NMJC Workforce Development for a day packed with hands-on learning and industry exploration.

Students expanded their knowledge of the energy industry by learning tank gauging and fire tube operations, experiencing life on the road in our semi-truck simulator, and getting a virtual look at real-world lease site operations. Thanks to our industry partner Coterra now Devon Energy, students participated in immersive headset demonstrations that allowed them to perform field tasks in a realistic work environment and for providing lunch.

The day continued in Automation, where students learned circuit wiring and PLC programming. They also competed in an energy-themed trivia challenge, and wrapped up the day with a putting contest, dirty sodas, and popsicles to cool off after an action-packed day.
