Hawaii County has a new Fire Commissioner! Firewise Communities Hawaii Coordinator Denise Laitinen was confirmed by the Hawaii County Council and approved by Mayor Kenoi as the newest member of the Hawaii County Fire Commission.
Denise is the only person to have served on two different fire commissions in the state of Hawaii! During her tenure as vice chair of the Maui County Fire Commission she was responsible for hiring the current Maui County Fire Chief Jeff Murray and is now a member of the Hawaii County Fire Commission.
