Hon. Maurice Kakai Bisau, the Member of Parliament for Kiminini Constituency and Trans Nzoia gubernatorial aspirant for 2027, presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new St. Patrick’s Waitaluk Senior School at Waitaluk Comprehensive School.
The modern facility will include 12 classrooms, an administration block, an ICT hub, and modern ablution facilities. The project aims to create space for the establishment of a constituent campus of Egerton University, expected to admit its first cohort of 5,000 students next year.
Speaking during an interview with MPASHO TV, Hon. Bisau noted that the university campus will boost job creation, stimulate local businesses, improve infrastructure, and increase land value within Waitaluk and surrounding areas.
The initiative follows a request by Trans Nzoia leaders to President William Samoei Ruto to expand access to public university education in the county, a move expected to transform Kiminini Constituency and the entire Trans Nzoia region.
