I can’t even explain how much I love this kid. I am just “the {fun} aunt,” but my heart loves him as if he were mine and I am grateful to be on the sidelines in his life.

I’ve been cheering for him before his flag football days - back when all he wanted for Christmas and his birthday was the chance to play tackle football. I still laugh thinking about a frustrated, red cheek 3rd grader who couldn’t understand why the 6th graders didn’t see he was just as good as they were. (With his older brother adding to the story that he was trash talking them) 🤣 I was there for his first tackle football game as the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes—yes, I cried when he threw his first touchdown. I was there when he came home afterward and proudly checked it off his goal list. He’s a kid who bets on himself.

When he transferred high schools and was asked to play down to support the program, he took another chance on himself and asked the coaches to let him prove himself. In true Britton style, he arose to the occasion! I was in the stands that night he stepped in and showed to everyone in the stands what he already knew—he belongs on that field! (Yep, cried then too) Cheering him on every week, no matter the outcome, has been an incredible ride. I’m excited to watch him continue his football journey in Idaho after his mission.
