Courage in recovery means following our heart’s inner guidance and intuition that comes from the still small voice within each of us. Turning away from our fears and not reacting to the louder voices that have become our well-worn defense mechanisms, allows us to experience the expression of God which is our essence. When we allow ourselves to show up in courage, we become a vehicle for our higher power to use us and we become the gift we wish to be in the world. - Heart, Mind & Spirit Recovery

Willingness opens the doors to honesty and open-mindedness which are the building blocks of recovery. Without willingness, we limit our recovery to the old belief systems that keep us anchored in emptiness, resistance and resentment. Being willing to step into a new level of recovery requires us to embrace a new way of being and thinking to change our lives. Simply by being willing, we catapult ourselves into creating a new story of recovery.

When we are in gratitude we tap into the universal spiritual connection that creates worlds. Make gratitude a key component of your daily spiritual practice.

In recovery, we talk about an attitude of gratitude because we know our attitude has a direct impact on our current thoughts and beliefs. Our attitude affects our expectations because what we focus our thoughts and feelings on, we attract into our lives. The journey into deeper recovery requires a positive attitude as an energizing power to create our best life.

In recovery, letting go of trying to control people, places and things brings us peace. Practicing letting go as the spiritual principle of surrender allows our lives to unfold in amazing ways. By letting go and letting God guide our lives, we join in co-creating instead of controlling, with trust and faith as our foundation. Letting go allows us to release the past and live in the present.
