Here is something that may be of interest to my friends who live in Utah County:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Announcing a FREE R.A.D. Women Basic Self-Defense class!
That’s right – a FREE, 15 hour, basic self-defense class for women! This particular class was booked full, but just had some last minute cancelations and now has a few openings!
This basic self-defense class is open to female Utah County residents ages 12 and up. This particular R.A.D. Women class is sponsored by the Utah County Sheriff's Office, and as always, Sheriff Smith makes this program available at no cost to the participant. This particular class also includes 3 hours of key chain (Kubaton) defense training. Participants receive a Kubaton, free of charge, upon completion of the course.
"The R**e Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training, [including a dynamic simulated training experience.]" www.rad-systems.com

This course is taught by sworn and civilian employees of the Utah County Sheriff's Office. A R.A.D. Women class is a very fun, informative, and empowering opportunity. The class is taught at a level of "go at your own pace," allowing the curriculum to benefit women of all ages, sizes, and health conditions.
The remaining spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. We ask that you commit to attend all 5 classes if you sign up as the information and techniques taught in each class build upon the one before it.

All classes will be taught in Provo - building and room number given upon registration
The dates & times of the class are:
Thursday, April 11, 2023, 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Here's an endorsement from an organization.

06/30/2022

We won (55.8% to 44.2%)! While there are still some votes to be counted there are not enough left to change the outcome. One of the joys of any campaign is making new friends and I was blessed with a lot of them.

I first want to thank those who supported me during the convention and primary. There are too many to name individually but I truly appreciate everything you did. I would however like to highlight my wife and companion for over 40 years, Suzanne. She made this possible and I love her more than ever.

Thanks to the precinct officers and delegates who went the extra mile. I was very impressed by your efforts to inform voters. You held cottage meetings, meet the candidate events, and precinct events for voters where you shared what you learned. You are amazing!

Thanks to everyone who ran. Campaigns are hard and in the end, someone must win and others lose in terms of the votes counted. However, regardless of the final vote, you are all winners! You've made new friends, learned a lot, and gained the respect and admiration of many -- you can count me among them. You've also brought issues to the forefront, shared different perspectives on those, and provided opportunities for hundreds, if not thousands, of individuals to engage in service by helping on your campaign.

Thanks as well to those who asked tough questions and/or supported my opponent. I believe the convention and primary processes bring out the best in candidates. It forces us to think, look at issues from multiple perspectives, and do additional research. I'm certainly better prepared to be your County Auditor than when I started.

I am excited to serve you in this new capacity starting in January. Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions, suggestions, or to bring an issue to my attention.
