One of the biggest misconceptions about custom framing is that every piece needs an elaborate frame and multiple mats.

The truth is that it all depends on the artwork... and the person it's going home with.

Sometimes the perfect design includes elegant moulding, layered mats, and all the little details that make the piece feel extra special.

And sometimes...less really is more.

This customer brought in a large collection of anime artwork to be framed. Rather than dressing each piece up, we kept things clean and simple with black metal frames and no mats. The result? Nothing distracts from the artwork itself, and the entire collection has a cohesive look when displayed together.

I only managed to snap photos of a few of the pieces before they headed home, but there were many more!

Every project is different and that's exactly why we love what we do!

If you've been in our shop before, you've probably seen some of Pete's incredible photography. He's well known for capturing the beauty of the Indiana Dunes, and we're excited to share that he now has eight of his prints available for purchase at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center!

We're especially proud because we had the opportunity to print them for him right here at Hoosier Highlander.

There's something really rewarding about being able to help local artists bring their work to life. Watching Pete's images go from digital files to beautiful prints that people can take home and enjoy has been pretty special.

The photo here only shows four of the prints, but there are actually eight on display, so if you're planning a trip to the Dunes, be sure to stop by the Visitor Center, check them all out, and maybe even take your favorites home.

Supporting local artists helps keep creativity thriving in our community, and we're honored to play a small part in that.

Today, we're celebrating 250 years of American independence.

Whether you're spending the day at a parade, firing up the grill, watching fireworks, or simply enjoying time with family and friends, we hope it's a day filled with laughter, gratitude, and memories you'll cherish for years to come.

As we celebrate, we're also thankful for the freedoms we enjoy and for all of those who have served, and continue to serve, to help protect them.

A repeat customer brought in this Chicago Cubs poster, and at first glance, it's already an awesome piece for any Cubs fan, but then you realize it's signed by the players...

And it gets even better!

Plus, on the back are photos of the players actually signing the poster, adding another layer of authenticity and making it that much more meaningful.

It's one thing to own an autographed piece. It's another to have the story of how it became autographed preserved right along with it.

The owner is a huge Cubs fan, and now he has a beautifully framed keepsake that he will enjoy for years to come.

It's not just about protecting what's inside the frame...it's about preserving the memories and stories that come with it.
