THIS WEEKEND! Feel the sound of the new Ultimix 351! https://www.ultimix.com/?target=bundle&id=1597&bundlecat=8825
Notes From The Production Suite:
(1.) hate that i made you love me (ULTI-reMIX) - Ariana Grande 120
AG drops the lead single from “petal” and she doesn’t stray too far from winning formula of R&B/trap-pop. This time, Max Martin is brought into the fold…Enough said! Beat Thrillerz opted for a mainstream dance vibe for instant mix show attention.
(2.) I Can’t Love You Anymore (ULTI-reMIX) - Ella Langley & Morgan Wallen 123
The first pairing of Langley/Wallen has the pop sensibilities you’d expect from both. Mark built on this foundation and added even more mainstream dance elements. A sure thing for open format jocks.
(3.) Midnight Sun - Zara Larsson 151
Larsson’s persistence has paid off exponentially! She and PinkPantheress currently hold down the top spot at CHR-40 radio with “Stateside” (UM 347). Stacy championed “Sun” since it was released over a year ago, and felt it needed a solid mix to give it more legs. His mix toggles between B’more/Jersey and a Drum & Bass groove. His intro with Jersey beats make it easier to program at different tempos.
(4.) Boston - STELLA LEFTY 126
This country crossover track is an interpolation of “Stick Season” by Noah Kahan. Mark stayed with a minimal breakbeat style production that should bring more mainstream DJs to the party.
(5.) Hit The Wall (ULTI-reMIX) - Gracie Abrams 120
Brian reworked the latest from Abrams into a chill house vibe, replacing all the main instruments with new ones.
(6.) Summer Breeze (ULTI-reMIX) - Keith Urban 110
Urban rides the current Yacht Rock wave! His latest album “flow state” features beloved covers of the best tracks in the genre. The first release is a cover of the Seals & Crofts gem from ’72. DeToto sports an uplifting 80s-inspired house groove production full of modern piano arrangements, vibrant synth textures and a driving bass line.
(7.) DANCE… (Clean & Dirty)- Slayyyter 113
If you close your eyes, this could easily be a new Gaga track. But instead, it’s the fiery new single from Slayyyter (her name even sounds Gaga-esque)! Stacy added additional rhythmic elements.
(9.) Go Ladies (Clean & Dirty) (ULTI-reMiX) 127
Huda & Rich team up for a breaks monster that has “OPEN FORMAT DJs” written all over it. Although French Montana & Max B are usually best suited for Funkymix (“Ever Since You Left Me”) (FM 324), our dynamic duo built off the commercial/mainstream “Planet Rock” foundation of the original "Go Ladies" production.
(11.) Too Easy (Clean & Dirty) - Tinashe 136
The “Nasty” singer teased this new track at Coachella back in April and heralded it as “ushering in a new era”. It definitely has a more dance-focused sound that builds upon the success of “Nasty” (FM 305). Stacy found the original version to be very minimal; consisting of just a simple kick and snare. So he up’d the ante with additional percussion elements.
(13.) Movin’ The The Sun - HUGEL, Imael Angel & Ultra Nate’ 125
HUGEL is knee-deep in a stellar year! This time, he enlists the vocal chops of veteran house diva Ultra Nate’ and the result is an international chart-topping dance track. Nate’ has never sounded more confident and “Free”. The “vinyl noise pops”, a commonly used production tool, felt too distracting. So Stacy axed them out of the breakdown parts and the intro and outro. He added some “Volumizing” to make it his own.
