“My passion for design requires engagement of my heart, soul, mind, and strength, all aspects of what makes me human.”
Jon Kannapell, furniture designer and product engineer, believes that “creativity is essential to human flourishing.” A graduate from Appalachian State University, Jon studied Industrial Design, concentrating in Furniture Design.
In Jon’s work, he identifies the things that are moving and beautiful through an emotional response to the natural and created world.
“I examine human creativity and engage in what I believe it to be at its core: loving others through the expression of thoughts, emotions, and beauty to the highest degree of my ability.”
Jon is open to commissions and would love to work with you on your next project. Check out his artist profile on our website.

“As a person who obsesses about all the different wood species, I put these broken and banged up pieces of plywood in the same category as any exotic material.”
George Peterson, mixed-media sculptor and lifelong skater, started his practice just using solid wood. He introduced recycled skateboards in 2008. “The material [skateboards] has its own characteristics and quirks. It’s mostly smaller, flat pieces with broken, worn and textured edges that's left by the skateboarder.”
The Lingo series, shown here, uses whole skateboards that have been carved and painted with the same mixed media blend. George sees his work with recycled skateboards evolving over many more years, "I have a huge stockpile of material and tons of ideas."
George is open to commissions and loves working on new and exciting projects. Reach out to him directly or contact us to learn how you can work with him.
